PTM Poster by Prashytech
The Photoshop skills of my dear sidey have caused him much trouble. A lot of designs including the Apogee brochure, poster, souvenior what not has been churned out that small room next to mine. This time it was the PTM Farewell grub poster. Its simplicity and straight-forwardness struck me.

A Lunar Crime
We are explorers of the moon.
We have cracks and craters on our backs.
We find no disgrace in getting people disgusted.
We are criminals committing public indecency.
We use this means to specially express protest, scorn, disrespect or provocation.
We call ourselves the “Mooners“.
Mooning is a serious business and only professionals are allowed to perform such stunts. Don’t try this at your college, in public gatherings or in front of women. You may not know about the consequences.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Do not use your keyboard or mouse continuously, or you could need a surgery like this. A post for Lathi, because he asked me about this.

This came in an email some time ago, I just got reminded of it tonight.
It looks like a lot of pain.
People I have a confession to make. This compree also is going to be another dissapointment. As we bid farewell to another batch of illustrous seniors, the first BITSian batch, a batch of a myriad talents, I look back at my CGPA card and go “What?“
I am sure many people are happy that I am suffering, but to those considerate loving hearts, is to put in a little less effort this semester to make good grades. Most of you are already well settled in PS 1 stations of your choice. It seems unnecessary to put in any more extra effort. Live the BITSian ideal of “Take Light“.
10 pointers can for a start start thinking of a B here and there. 8 and 9 pointers must come visit the range of 6 & 7. It’s pretty cool down there. As for us 5 & 6 pointers we must put in a little bit more effort and score some 7s and 8s. After all our better- off brothers and sisters will help us to get better grades, by performing lesser than expected.
People should start backing up DC++. A lot of the movies and series are getting lost. I do have a copy of the most important stuff, but most of it is at home, which I am unlikely to bring over here again.
People must start using the IPL as an excuse of performing worse during the comprees.
All those who I have offended and mooned this semester must forgive me whatever the offence it may be.
Bring better stuff to DC++ next semester.
All Apologies
Apparently my last post has hurt some people. Most of them were the couples involved, others were ethical pundits. I can only ask for forgiveness. It may have invaded their much valued privacy. I will never put posts of people have private moments in public places. I think no blogger should do any such thing.
A big sorry.

It was very Psentimental
Music Nite (this is grammatically correct) happened on April 25, 2009. That was yesterday. It was the Psenti Music Nite. I couldn’t see many psenti-semites around. One of the worst attendance records ever for a music nite. Music Club has to be blamed for this. Like the Indian Government they too didn’t negotiate with IPL (Indian Premier League), the circus of cricket happening in Zuid Afrika these days, which has brought life and work in India to a stand-still. Mothers forget to cook food, children don’t do their home-work and sleep late, while fathers get drunk and fight over teams of their interests.
There were some moments to cherish, which included the come-back of Naag and Cherian, who gave good renditions of Maiden songs. It also saw the passing out of some great music players from the 4th and 5th yearite batches, most importantly, Suraj Satheesh (Susa). A quiet and down-to-the-earth bassist, Susa rocked his performances. Adieu Susa.
Some good songs included Pull me Under (Dream Theater), Emoshanal Atyachaar (Dev.D), Paper Puli (Thermal and a Quarter) and RHCP Medley. It was also Caleb’s last psenti nite, amazing drummer and musician that he is.
But to spoil all this was Jatin Gupta. My dear Dil Boy, agar aap gaa nahi sakthe ho, toh kyu hamare kaanon ko takhleef de rahe ho? He is either trying too much, or has cracked his voice beyond repair. This is not the first time. It’s been happening for m0re than 3 performances. I don’t understand what’s the problem with Music Club, not doing something about it. Jalaa doonga madarchod.
Another sad Pal Yaad Aayenge Yeh Pal performance and we were done.
The Lights board started melting in between so we had to cut all those wonderful lights. This time we tried a new setup, putting the pars (Parabola lights) from behind the musicians. It looked decent.
Lights also had a psenti-nite yesterday. It was Rachit’s and Bhat’s last day at work. We will miss you machaans.
Thanks to Vivek and Suhaas, a lot of people got mooned by me yesterday.
Frank Zappa said “Rock Journalism was about people who can’t write, interviewing people who can’t talk, for people who can’t read”.

Praying Mantis R.I.P
The scene was LTC QT. We were getting delayed for the “Balls Only” Quiz.
We were sitting and waiting thanks to our first yearites doing a shoddy job at booking the rooms.
Mighty had stamped on some praying mantis and then asked me to kill it.
I was in Vlad mode.
So I stamped hard and left. Mighty again complained that it did not die.
I grew angry. I kicked it a few feet away real hard, it swung and fell somewhere.
We had all thought that the game was done. But some life persisted. It was unwilling to leave this dimension.
So I slide-tackled it.
Death
Rest in Pieces, Mantis
